*Repatriation

- Coverage for Returning you to your country in the event of severe illness, injury or death.

- This is coverage for repatriation to the home country in the event of a serious accident, illness, or death to a foreigner .

01

Is there a minimum insurance coverage amount required by the Canadian government?

There is no minimum amount. You can apply for amounts ranging from $10,000 to $300,000.

Considering Canadian medical expenses, coverage of more than $50,000 is recommended.

02

If I receive a visa shorter than the desired period because I do not meet the insurance requirements, can I extend the visa period by reapplying after meeting the insurance requirements ?

You cannot receive an extension. Therefore, you must prepare well from the beginning before applying.

03

After receiving the visa, can I cancel it if I have state insurance (Ohip, etc.)?

You must not cancel. Repatriation coverage, which is required insurance coverage, is not included in state insurance (Ohip, etc.), so it must be maintained.

04

What are the disadvantages of canceling?

If you cancel your insurance after the visa is issued, a Suspicious Transaction Report may be filed with the state government depending on the insurance company's decision.

It may not be a big problem right away, but when you extend your visa or apply for permanent residency in the future, the documents submitted first may be detected as document fraud, and you may be denied a visa or permanent residency, or in the worst case, deported.
